Privacy Policy

The short version

I collect what I need to take your order, ship it, and answer your emails. I use cookies to run the shop and to measure whether my advertising works. I do not sell your data. You can ask me at any time what I hold about you, and I will tell you honestly. The full details, as the law requires, are below.

What we collect

Information you give us directly:

• Contact and order details: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, and phone number, so we can fulfil your order and reach you about it.
• Account details: if you create an account, your login information.
• Customer support messages: whatever you choose to share when you email us, including about your skin if you ask for advice. We treat that information with the same confidentiality as in a clinical setting.

Information collected automatically:

When you visit the site, we collect usage data through cookies: device and browser information, IP address, and how you move through the shop. This helps us understand what works and what does not.

Information from service providers:

Our shop runs on Shopify and payments are handled by certified payment processors. They collect payment details (such as card information) to process your transaction. We never see or store your full card details ourselves.

Why we use your data, and the legal basis

• To fulfil your order: processing payment, arranging shipping, handling returns and refunds, and sending order confirmations. Legal basis: performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• To answer your questions and improve the shop: customer support and understanding how the site is used. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in serving you well (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• For marketing: if you sign up for our emails, we send them until you unsubscribe, which you can do with one click in every email. We also use advertising tools such as the Meta pixel to measure our advertising and reach people who may be interested in Glowé. Legal basis: your consent for marketing cookies and email (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time.
• For security: detecting and preventing fraud. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the shop safe (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Cookies

We use cookies to make the shop work, to remember your cart and preferences, to run analytics, and (with your consent) for advertising measurement. You can manage cookies through the cookie banner and your browser settings. Details of the cookies Shopify uses are at shopify.com/legal/cookies. Blocking essential cookies can stop parts of the shop from working.

Who we share your data with

We share data only where needed to run the shop:

• Shopify, which hosts our store.
• Payment processors, to handle your payment.
• Shipping carriers, to deliver your order.
• Email and analytics providers, to send order emails and understand site usage.
• Advertising platforms such as Meta, for advertising measurement, only with your cookie consent.

We do not sell your personal information. We never share what you tell us about your skin with anyone.

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, for example in response to a valid legal request.

International transfers

Some of our service providers process data outside the EEA. Where that happens, we rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision, so your data keeps the same level of protection.

How long we keep your data

Order and invoice data is kept for 7 years, as Dutch tax law requires. Account data is kept while your account is active. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe. Support emails are kept as long as needed to help you properly.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access the data we hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, receive a copy of it, restrict or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time. Email support@gloweskincare.com and we respond within the legal timeframe, usually much faster. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, simply to protect your own data.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.

Children

The shop is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we update this page and the date above. For meaningful changes we will tell you directly where the law requires it.
